Hotel Villa Dio Petres is cooled and heated in an innovative way by geothermal means.

This means that there is no need for noisy air conditioning in the rooms. The coolness (and in winter the heat) comes 'silently' through the floor and the ceiling. In the basement there are pumps that extract the coolness/heat from the ground. On hot days the system is supported by a heat pump on the roof. There are also solar panels on the roof for the hot water.
